Network Mapping in Real Time

Heading (14).png

Hosted in 2025 by Georgia Organics, SOWTH is a biennial convening of producers and food system actors from across the U.S. Southeast. For the inaugural conference, we partnered with Georgia Organics to design a network mapping exercise that allowed attendees to see, in real time, how the event was shaping and strengthening the network. Watching the connections grow was not only jaw-dropping—it also gave SOWTH a meaningful baseline for tracking the progress of the regional network over time.

Asset Mapping Tool for Connecting Farmers to Resources

As another output of the SOWTH 2025 conference, we built the Pollinators Atlas using crowdsourced data from regional businesses and nonprofits. The tool, designed to continue to grow and to be user friendly, highlights the wide range of support available to farmers, producers, and ranchers—from equipment and financing to legal aid and business training.

Batonga Foundation Collateral

BF 2024 Annual Report (1).png

Using fresh features and narrative approaches, we collaborated with the Batonga Foundation to develop their annual reports and strategic plan. Batonga celebrates Africa as a land of hope and talent, and thus focuses on transforming the most vulnerable adolescent girls in Africa into formidable women.

WomenStrong's Metaphor-Based Theory of Change

We worked with WomenStrong International to develop an interactive ‘pollinator’s garden’ as a metaphor for the kinds of changes women's rights organizations achieve with support from WomenStrong. In contrast to more technical theories of change, this interpretation is meant to intuitively convey how change happens to lay and expert audiences alike.

Mapping Freedom Fund's Anti-Slavery Movement

Freedom Fund aims to support and connect frontline leaders—especially women and survivors—to challenge the systems enabling exploitation in their communities. We worked with Freedom Fund to conduct a social network analysis to assess the strength of the network of Freedom Rising leaders in Brazil.

Black Futures

As seen in Decaturish!

We explore the role of the imagination in transcending the current paradigms and expectations in which we, as citizens, as humans, find ourselves trapped. Inspired by our No End in Sight research, which suggests that Black income in Atlanta lags and could lag behind the income of other groups for two centuries with virtually no change, we asked ourselves, “What must change, to ensure the future of Blacks in Atlanta is radically different from the past?”

WIPO's Network Analysis Evaluation

We conducted a social network analysis-based evaluation for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to assess the quantity and quality of relationship-building between women in their indigenous women’s entrepreneurs program.

CARE's Fast and Fair COVID-19 Campaign Evaluation

We conducted an independent evaluation, Fighting for the Least Vaccinated, of CARE's local-to-global COVID-19 vaccine initiative. Our evaluation was focused on the global systems influence aspects of CARE's work. Several aspects of our analysis were used in CARE's overall evaluation (pictured left). We also created an impact video as an innovative synthesis of the evaluation.

With All Our Hearts

With all our hearts (2).png

What happens when organizations are driven by their own desire to learn and measure impact, rather than by donor mandates to do so? We set out to explore this question and found out that it strikes right at the heart of power relations in the international development sector. Click here to read more.
